CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team fell in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 22-ranked Xavier on Saturday night, with two second-half goals from the Musketeers proving to be enough to lift the home team to victory at Corcoran Field.
Dayton finishes the 2025 season with a 15-4-3 record.
The two sides played a tightly contested first half, with the halftime horn sounding with the match scoreless.
Xavier struck in a flurry in the second half, tallying the first goal of the match in the 53rd minute of action. Just 90 seconds later, a header from a Musketeers' corner made it 2-0.
The Flyers mustered multiple chances in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net.
