Nayo Lear have been named the
Ohio's 529 Plan CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Dec. 15-21.
Bennett had another strong performance in the Flyers' 1-1 week, averaging 21 points per game with 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals. Bennett scored 25 in UD's 97-69 win over Florida State, going 12-for-12 from the free throw line in the contest. The Orlando native followed that up with a 17-point, 5-rebound game against Liberty.
Lear scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting and nine made free throws in the win over Evansville Sunday to cap off an undefeated week for the Flyers. The senior wing averaged 22.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and shot 68.2 percent from the field in UD's two victories over Evansville and at Western Michigan. Lear leads the Flyers in scoring this season.
