DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will have a doubleheader this week, hosting NCAA Division II Cedarville on Friday and then heading south to take on Northern Kentucky later that night.
The first of the two games starts with UD hosting Cedarville on Friday at 11:30 a.m. The Flyers then travel down to Highland Heights, Ky., where they finish the day against NKU at the Five Seasons Sports Club at 6:00 p.m.
The Flyers are coming off their fourth straight victory, defeating Saint Francis 4-0 to end a perfect 3-0 weekend. That win helped improve their record to 6-2 on the season. Dayton has dominated its last two matches, winning both without dropping a single game and posting a combined score of 11-0.
Sophomore
Mikkel Zinder is coming off his third Atlantic Player of the Week nod of the season. The Richboro, Pa. native continues his dominant 2025 campaign, going 3-0 in singles to move to a perfect 8-0 in action this spring. Freshman
Sturle Skigelstrand was named the A-10 Under Armour Rookie of the Week. Skigelstrand also put together a stellar performance this week, going unbeaten in both singles and doubles play.
Cedarville has only played two matches in the spring campaign. Both of those matches were wins, with the first being an impressive 7-0 win over Illinois Wesleyan and a 4-3 victory over Wabash. The Flyers look to make it nine wins in a row over the Yellow Jackets.
NKU enters the match still searching for its first win of the season. The Norse started their year with losses at Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky. Their most recent match was a 4-2 home loss to Southern Indiana. UD has won the last six matches with Northern Kentucky.
