COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team took on top-ranked Texas Monday afternoon, falling to the Longhorns 6-1 at Ohio State's Buckeye Field. The Dayton pitching staff combined to strike out eight Texas batters, the second-highest strikeout total for Texas this season.
Dayton moves to 8-7 on the season while Texas headed into its game against Ohio State this afternoon with a 25-1 mark.

Kirnan Bailey's double in the fourth inning is her third of the season; she is one of three Flyers with three doubles

Dayton is scheduled to play four home games this week starting with a single game against Stonehill on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free. This weekend will kick off the Atlantic 10 Conference season as Dayton will play host to Saint Louis for a three-game set March 15-16.
