DAYTON—The University of Dayton men's tennis team aims to extend its winning streak with a two-match weekend. On Friday night, it will host Tennessee State before traveling to face Xavier on Sunday.
The weekend kicks off on Friday as UD hosts Tennessee State at 7 p.m. The Flyers will then head to Cincinnati, Ohio, to take on Xavier at 6 p.m. at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
The Flyers head into the weekend riding a 10-match winning streak. Their last outing was a dominant 7-0 sweep of Kentucky Wesleyan, where they didn't drop a single game. This will be Dayton's first match since March 2.
Tennessee State enters the match with a 1-8 record. The Tigers opened their spring season with losses to Arkansas, Tennessee, Chattanooga, Samford, Auburn, UAB, and Jacksonville State. However, they secured their first win in their last match, edging out Lipscomb 4-3.
Following a recent loss to Jacksonville State, Xavier now holds a 7-7 record. The Musketeers have also suffered road defeats against No. 7 Kentucky and No. 3 Ohio State but have picked up wins against Eastern Kentucky, Ball State, and Drake.
