OXFORD - The University of Dayton softball team's come-from-behind bid at Miami (Ohio) fell just short Wednesday as the RedHawks claimed a 7-6 victory over the Flyers at Miami Softball Stadium. Dayton scored six unanswered runs down the stretch but Miami used a RBI-double to score the winning run in the seventh.
Dayton is now 12-9 on the season and Miami improved to 13-15.

Haven Dwyer tallied a season-high five strikeouts over 3.0 innings of work
3 - sophomore short stop
Kirnan Bailey was 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, extending her reached-base streak to a team-high 12 games
2B - senior
Maddie Kapsimalis recorded her fourth double of the season and was one of three Flyers with a multi-hit game

Camrynn Linneman (1-3). Save - None.
UP NEXT
This weekend, Dayton will head to the northeast for a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series at Rhode Island. The Flyers and Rams will get underway Saturday at 12 p.m. with a doubleheader at URI Softball Complex and admission is free.
