Softball Shuts Out Butler In Six, 8-0

Flyer Pitching Corps Combines for Third Shutout of the Season

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team shut out visiting Butler, 8-0, in six innings Wednesday at UD Softball Stadium. Three Flyer pitchers combined for the team's third shutout of the season.

Dayton improves to 15-10 overall while Butler is now 17-11 on the season.

KEY STATS
2 - senior Emma Schutter went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, extending her reached-base streak to 15 games
2 - sophomore Kirnan Bailey tallied two hits and knocked in two RBI
1B - senior Maddie Kapsimalis' single up the middle in the sixth extended her hitting streak to a team-high-tying 10 consecutive games
Win - Haven Dwyer (6-3). Loss - Katie Petran (4-4). Save - Izzy Kemp (2).

UP NEXT
Dayton will be on the road for the second-straight weekend as it takes a trip to the nation's capital for a three-game A-10 series at George Washington. Both UD and GW, along with SJU and Mason, sit atop league standings with a 5-1 mark after two weekends of action. The Flyers and Revolutionaries will kick of their series Saturday at 12 p.m. at GW Softball Field.
