CHICAGO - The University of Dayton softball team completed the doubleheader sweep at Loyola Chicago Saturday, winning game one by a 5-2 margin and came from behind in the nightcap to nip the Ramblers, 3-2. The Flyers have now won four straight and moved into second place in Atlantic 10 standings.

Dayton improved to 19-13 on the season and 9-4 in league games while Loyola is now 12-28 overall and 7-9 in A-10 games.

GAME ONE
Dayton 5, Loyola 2
11 - junior Izzy Kemp was one off her career high with 11 strikeouts, her second-consecutive and fourth overall double-digit K game of the season
2 - senior Maddie Kapsimalis was 2-for-3 with a walk, her 11th multi-hit game of the year
SB - senior Emma Schutter stole two bases, bringing her total to 18 for the season
Win - Kemp (9-4). Loss - Pepkowski (6-18). Save - None.

GAME TWO
Dayton 3, Loyola 2
6 - senior Haven Dwyer equaled her career high with six strikeouts
DP - junior Molly Grace completed the solo double play in the second inning, catching a line out and tagging the runner at first
HR - two Flyers hit home runs in the game, including freshman Ella Holman whose first career home run scored the game winner in the seventh
Win - Dwyer (8-5). Loss - Broniewicz (6-8). Save - Kemp (3).

UP NEXT
