CHICAGO - The University of Dayton softball team completed the doubleheader sweep at Loyola Chicago Saturday, winning game one by a 5-2 margin and came from behind in the nightcap to nip the Ramblers, 3-2. The Flyers have now won four straight and moved into second place in Atlantic 10 standings.
Dayton improved to 19-13 on the season and 9-4 in league games while Loyola is now 12-28 overall and 7-9 in A-10 games.
GAME ONE
Dayton 5, Loyola 2

Izzy Kemp was one off her career high with 11 strikeouts, her second-consecutive and fourth overall double-digit K game of the season

Maddie Kapsimalis was 2-for-3 with a walk, her 11th multi-hit game of the year

Emma Schutter stole two bases, bringing her total to 18 for the season

Haven Dwyer equaled her career high with six strikeouts

Molly Grace completed the solo double play in the second inning, catching a line out and tagging the runner at first
HR - two Flyers hit home runs in the game, including freshman
Ella Holman whose first career home run scored the game winner in the seventh
Win - Dwyer (8-5). Loss - Broniewicz (6-8). Save - Kemp (3).
