DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team opened its three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series against Fordham with a 10-5 win at home Friday evening. The Flyers' and Rams' second game was suspended due to darkness and will be restarted tomorrow at 11 a.m. at UD Softball Stadium.
Dayton improved to 21-14 on the season and 11-4 in league games while Fordham moved to 21-22 overall and 11-7 in conference action.

Izzy Kemp struck out 10 Ram batters, her fifth double-digit strikeout game of the year, during her 10th complete game of 2025
4 - senior
Chloe Wong knocked in a career-high-tying four RBI, her team-high eighth multi-RBI game of the season, on the strength of a 2-for-4 day at the plate
2 - junior
Molly Grace was 2-for-3 with two RBI, one of four Flyers with at least two hits and/or two RBI
HR - Wong sent her career-high and team-high fifth home run over the fence in the first, a three-run shot to left center
SB - three different Flyers recorded a stolen base, including senior
Emma Schutter with her team-high 19th of the year
Win - Kemp (10-4). Loss - Holly Beeman (11-6). Save - None.
UP NEXT
Dayton and Fordham were able to complete three innings in their second game of the evening before play was suspended due to darkness. Game two will resume Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by game three of the series approximately 30 minutes after. Admission to UD Softball Stadium is free.
