DAYTON - After restarting yesterday's second game following a weather delay this morning, the University of Dayton softball team defeated Fordham, 7-1, before falling to the Rams, 8-0 (5), in the league series finale. The Flyers claimed the 2-1 series win and are currently in second place in Atlantic 10 standings.
Dayton is now 22-15 on the season and 12-5 in A-10 games while Fordham moves to 22-23 overall and 12-8 in conference action.
GAME TWO
Dayton 7, Fordham 1
11 - junior
Molly Grace tallied a game-high 11 putouts at first base, her fifth double-digit putout game of the season
3 - sophomore
Deirdre Flaherty was one of two Flyers with multiple RBI; this was her sixth of the season
CG - senior
Haven Dwyer went the distance in the circle for her fourth complete game of the season; the four CG tied her career high set in 2023
HR - the Flyers knocked out two home runs in the contest, one each by senior
Maddie Kapsimalis (4) and Flaherty (4)

GAME THREE
Fordham 8, Dayton 0 (5 inn.)
BB - Wong drew her 15th walk of the season, extending her reached-base to a current team-high six games
SB - senior
Emma Schutter tallied her 20th stolen base of the year, marking her fourth-consecutive with 20 or more SB
Win - Emilee Watkins (7-6). Loss -
Camrynn Linneman (2-4). Save - None.
UP NEXT
Dayton has a busy week ahead with three midweek games followed by a three-game set at Saint Joseph's over the weekend. On Tuesday, April 22, Dayton will play a single game at Northern Kentucky beginning at 4:30 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Akron Wednesday.
