DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team wrapped up their final home match of the season with a commanding 4-1 win over Davidson on Sunday afternoon at the South Regency Tennis Center. The win extended the Flyers' record win streak to 18 games and secured an undefeated Atlantic 10 season.
The Flyers set the tone early by capturing the doubles point in thrilling fashion. Sophomore Kyle McNally and freshman Brady Hussey earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2, while junior Sai Dore and senior Davis Phillips battled through a nail-biter at No. 3, edging out a 7-6 (7-5) win in a tense tiebreak.
Dayton carried that momentum into singles play. McNally led the charge with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 performance at No. 1. Hussey followed suit with a strong 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 5. Freshman Alfons Ridstrom sealed the match for the Flyers, clinching the decisive point with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 6., marking Dayton's 20th win of the season.
