#UDWSOC Tops Wright State 2-0 To Start 2025 Campaign

Liv Grenda And Olivia Baca Each Netted Goals

FAIRBORN, Ohio – Redshirt sophomore Olivia Baca and sophomore Liv Grenda both scored goals in the University of Dayton women's soccer season-opening 2-0 win over Wright State on Thursday night at Alumni Field.
 
Grenda tallied the first goal of the season with a bullet from beyond the '18 in the 12th minute of the contest. Baca scored her first as a Flyer in the 90th minute to put the icing on the cake of the victory.
 
The defensive unit anchored by sophomore Bre Mendoza, senior Ella Raimondi, senior Kyra Karfonta and reshirt sophomore Lauren Fields stifled the Raiders' offense, allowing just three shots all game. Senior keeper Batoul Reda faced just one shot in the contest, making the save and notching her 28th career shutout.The Dearborn, Mich. native is now just one save away from tying the all-time shutout record for Dayton, currently held by Stephanie Weisenfeld (29; 1999-2002).
