SCOUTING WESTERN MICHIGAN
No. 20 Western Michigan (0-1-0, 0-1-0 MVC) also held its home opener on Thursday, suffering a 2-1 loss to visiting Kentucky. The Broncos were able to tie the game in the 75th minute but the Wildcats scored the game-winner two minutes later. WMU is coming off its third-consecutive NCAA appearance.

Hjalti Sigurdsson netted the equalizer in the 44th minute of the first half. The tie broke up WMU's four-match winning streak over UD but Western Michigan holds a nine-match unbeaten streak against Dayton heading into Sunday's match.
LAST TIME OUT
In the Flyers' first game of the 2025 season, Dayton welcomed Detroit Mercy to Baujan Field. After 90 minutes of play, the pair ended the contest in a 0-0 draw. Seven Flyers were on the pitch for the full time and senior Ethane Sassine led UD's attack with a match-high five shots. Dayton out-shot Detroit Mercy by a margin of 16-8 with eight of those shots coming on goal.
RPI RANKINGS
In the NCAA's final 2024 Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on Dec. 16, Dayton ranked 11th according to NCAA.com. Western Michigan came in at 25.
