MASON, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's tennis team's depth shone at the James O'Connell Memorial Tournament. UD played against Ball State, Butler, Furman, IU Indy, Lipscomb, Northern Kentucky, Tennessee Tech and Xavier, amassing 21 wins across singles and doubles play.

The three-day tournament was highlighted with Singles Flight wins from Alfons Ridstrom and freshman Rishi Dore. Ridstrom posted a 5-0 record in Flight B with Rishi going 4-0 to win Flight C.

Dylan Jaen, Kaia Mendibe, Andreas Nygaard and Eric Suk also picked up wins at the home of the Cincinnati Open.

"It was a great weekend for the Flyers. It's always good for the guys to test themselves in matches early in the fall, so we can see how to prepare for the next few weeks of tournaments," said assistant coach Andrew Lutschaunig on the team's early success. "It was very special for us to walk around those grounds as players and coaches."

"I'm so proud of Rishi and Alfons. Both guys have been putting in a ton of time on the court and in the weight room," said head coach Ryan Meyer. "For these guys to come out and win their flights is great and, I'm sure, will help their confidence."
