DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will close out its four-match road stretch Saturday night in Greensboro as it takes on No. 12 UNCG. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. at UNCG Soccer Stadium and admission is free.

ABOUT DAYTON
RV Dayton (1-0-3, 0-0-0 A-10) tallied back-to-back draws last week at Ohio State's Wolstein Classic, extending the Flyers' unbeaten streak to four games. Five different Flyers have scored a goal this season, lead by sophomore Andrew Armstrong with 15 shots and senior Ethan Sassine with 12 shots. Senior goalkeeper Gavin Krenecki has played all 360 minutes between the posts for UD and carries a 0.25 GAA.

SCOUTING UNCG
After opening the season with two wins, No. 12 UNCG (3-0-1, 0-0-0 SoCon) posted a 1-1 tie at South Florida Aug. 28 and defeated Central Florida Aug. 31. Enzo Dovlo paces the team's offense with six goals and two assists (14 pts) while reigning Southern Conference Defender of the Week Sami Lachekar has played all but eight minutes on the pitch this season.

UNCG Leads, 1-0-1
The Flyers and Spartans last squared off on Sept. 7, 2007 in Greensboro for the UNCG Kickoff Classic. After double overtime, Dayton and UNCG ended the game with a 1-1 draw.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton closed out Ohio State's Wolstein Classic Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Oakland. Junior Cooper Lijewski scored his first goal of the season on an assist from sophomore Andrew Armstrong. Dayton out-shot Oakland, 17-11, including 12 shots in the second half. Armstrong and Lijewski joined sophomore Dren Dobruna on the All-Tournament Team as the Flyers extended their season-opening unbeaten streak to four games. 

RPI RANKINGS
In the NCAA's final 2024 Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on Dec. 16, Dayton ranked 11th according to NCAA.com. UNCG came in at 38.

FLYER FACTS
• Dennis Currier is in his 21st season as head coach of the Flyers in 2025. His record at Dayton is 195-123-64 (.594) and his career win-loss mark sits at 383-172-76 (.667) over a total of 33 seasons. Currier has tallied the program's most wins (195) and most winning seasons (13).
• Following the first week of the season, three Flyers were recognized by the Atlantic 10 Conference. Ethan Sassine was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week, Gavin Krenecki garnered Defensive Player of the Week accolades and Mikkel Madsen secured the Rookie of the Week honor on Aug. 25.
• Five Flyers were named to the 2025 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team: Andrew Armstrong, Martin Bakken, Miles Bonham, Ethan Sassine and Paul Yeboah.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title four times (1998, 2000, 2009, 2020). The Flyers have captured the A-10 Championship title six times (1997, 1998, 2008, 2015, 2023, 2024) resulting in six appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Over 23 appearances in the A-10 Tournament, UD has tallied a 23-11-5 record in the conference postseason championship, reaching the title match nine times.
• The Flyers finished the 2024 season with a 14-3-3 overall record and a 5-1-2 conference mark, finishing in second place in regular-season play.

Dayton will return to the friendly confines of Baujan Field Saturday, Sept. 13 after four consecutive matches away from home. The Flyers will welcome the Hawks of Saint Joseph's to Dayton to open Atlantic 10 Conference play. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and admission is free.
