DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will kick off its spring campaign against the Kentucky Wildcats on Jan. 14.
The Flyers will play a doubleheader against Kentucky with start times of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex.
UD finished the fall season with success at the ITA Masters and the Ball State Invite. Kyle McNally went a perfect 6-0 in the Ball State Indoor Invitational. Mikkel Zinder was the back draw co-champion at the ITA Conference Masters. Zinder ended the fall ranked No. 86 by ITA. McNally and Dylan Jaen were ranked No. 79, a first for the Flyers.
Dayton faced Kentucky last in a doubleheader in 2024, falling 4-0 and 5-0 in the matches. The Wildcats were ranked No. 6 at the time. McNally was the only Flyer to win a set in either match.
The Wildcats were picked fourth in the Southeastern Conference preseason poll. Additionally, Eli Stephenson, Jack Loutit and Mikael Arseneault are ranked by the ITA. Stephenson and Loutit are also ranked in doubles.
The Flyers will continue the spring season with matches against Le Moyne and Youngstown State on Jan. 24 and 25 in Youngstown, Ohio.
