DAYTON - University of Dayton volleyball junior Abigail Cresse and men's soccer freshman Jacob Marshall have been named the Ohio's 529 Plan CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
Cresse led the Flyers offensively in a pair of straight-set victories over Fordham, tallying a team-high 14 kills while hitting a combined .500 across the two matches. The middle blocker turned in an especially efficient performance in Friday's win, recording six kills on 10 attempts without an error for a .600 hitting percentage. Cresse also contributed one service ace, two digs and four total blocks, including two solo blocks and two block assists.
Freshman forward Jacob Marshall played a key role in Dayton's attack last week, totaling one goal and three assists across two matches. The Sunbury, Ohio native opened the week with a goal and two assists in just 11 minutes off the bench Tuesday before adding another assist against VCU over the weekend. Marshall finished the week with five points and put three of his six shots on goal, accomplishing all of it in just 62 total minutes of action.
