#UDXC Multiple Flyers Make Their Mark in Program Record Book

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Adds Four To All-Time Leaderboards

DAYTON – The University of Dayton cross country team had four members, two men and two women, make it into Dayton's record books after the 5K and 8K races at the Joe Paine Notre Dame Invite on Oct. 2nd.

For the men, sophomore Kamden Kramer recorded the sixth-fastest 8K in Dayton program history with his personal best of 24:18.7. Kramer finished eighth at Notre Dame, earning his third consecutive Top 10 finish this season. Junior Logan Arnold broke his personal record with a time of 24:26.8, earning the 13th fastest 8K spot on the program's leaderboard.

Senior Anna Newkirk made her way onto the women's leaderboard with a personal best of 17:43.53 in the 5K, making her 15th fastest in Dayton history. Finding her way into the 17 spot for fastest 5K in school history, sophomore Addison Stephens recorded her personal best of 17:48.93.

Newkirk reflected on the accomplishment:

"Having my name on the Dayton leaderboard has been a goal of mine for the past few years. As a senior, and with it being our final 5K of the season, I knew it was my last opportunity to accomplish that goal. Being able to compete at such a high level with my teammates made the experience especially meaningful"

Arnold commented on the success of team programing contributing to his record:

"The hard work of the whole team has been putting in showed as eight of the nine men earned PRs [at Norte Dame Oct. 2nd] along with nine of 11 women. This gives me confidence in the training system Coach David Dobson has created for us, and I am excited to see even more success as the the season progresses."
