ST. LOUIS – The University of Dayton women's volleyball team earned its fourth straight-set win in conference play against the Saint Louis Billikens on Friday night (25-20, 25-11, 25-17).
The Flyers began red-hot with a 12-6 lead featuring three kills for senior
Kamryn Hunt. Saint Louis narrowed Dayton's lead to one, but a pair of kills for senior
Gabriela Machin Borges helped pull the Flyers out ahead to win the first set.
Momentum remained with UD, taking an 11-3 lead in the second set, forcing SLU to take both of their timeouts early. After leading 15-7 at the technical timeout, the Flyers outscored the Billikens 10-4 to take a two-set lead.Â
Dayton began the third set on a 7-0 run, with a kill for junior
Abigail Cresse, back-to-back kills for sophomore
Charlotte Vinson, an ace for freshman
Natalie Harrington, a kill for Hunt and a block assist for Cresse and Vinson. With that lead, UD remained ahead to win the match in three sets.
