DAYTON —The University of Dayton women's basketball team hosted Saint Louis University in "a battle of the least turnovers," as Head Coach Tamika Williams-Jeter puts it. The Flyers played hard until the very end to secure a 65-63 victory over the Billikens.

The Flyers (14-12, 7-8 A-10) earned a crucial win in league play while the Billikens (11-17, 5-10 A-10) split the season series.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 13, Saint Louis 19

• Graduate Nicole Stephens sank a jump shot in the paint, following it up just seconds later with a lay-up off a fast break. Stephens puts the first four Flyer points on the board.
• Senior Nayo Lear scored a second-chance lay-up, which brought the Flyers to 6-8.
• Stephens with another jumper to bring the Flyers to 8 to tie the game. 
• Sophomore Olivia Leung made the crowd go wild with a three-point jumper.
• Lear with a lay-up in the paint brings the Flyers into the lead 13-12. 

2nd Quarter: Dayton 29, Saint Louis 34

• Graduate Maliyah Johnson with a fast break lay-up off a turnover to bring the energy back to the crowd.
• Johnson is on fire with a three-point jumper following her layup to help keep the Flyers in the game. 
• Junior made a layup with 1:23, which brought the Flyers to 23-28
• Stephens made the arena roar when she sank a jumper.
• with a three at 0.03 seconds puts the Flyers at 29 to finish the quarter. 

3rd Quarter: Dayton 41, Saint Louis 51

• Lear with a quick jumper in the paint to put up the first points of the third quarter.
• with two good free throws to bring the Flyers to 33. 
• Junior Fatima Ibrahim drained a layup on a fast break.
• Lear scored a crowd-roaring layup off an opponent turnover.
• Assisted by Leung, Madol hit a fast break layup, which brought the Flyers to 39.
• Leung with a layup at 1:23 brings the Flyers just short of the at 41-49. 

4th Quarter: Dayton 65, Saint Louis 63

• Lear started off hot, shot two lay-ups just two minutes into the quarter.
• hit a lay-up with ease to bring the Flyers just 7 points short of the Billikens. 
• Stephens for three at 4:46, assisted by Senior Shantavia Dawkins.
• Lear sank a layup with ease.
• Assisted by Stephens, Ibrahim made a layup to fire up the Flyer fans.
• Stephens drains a layup and an and-one, which brings the Flyers to 57-61.
• Lear made a layup with 45 seconds left in the game.
• Leung on the fast break made a three-point jumper with 33 seconds left, bringing the Flyers just one point short of the . 
• Lear shot a layup, closing the score gap, then stepped behind the stripe and made the clinching free throw.
