CLINTON, S.C. - The University of Dayton softball team split its games on the first day of the 2026 season at Presbyterian's Blue Hose Invitational. Dayton downed Le Moyne, 7-3, before falling to Western Michigan, 3-2, in nine innings.

GAME ONE
Dayton 7, Le Moyne 3
4 - freshman Camryn Craig and senior Izzy Kemp each tallied four pitching strikeouts in the game
3 - senior Deirdre Flaherty was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBI
2 - sophomore Camrynn Linneman knocked in two RBI
SB - four different Flyers recorded a stolen base in the game
Win - Kate Kastelic (1-0). Loss - Isabella Kwashek (0-1). Save - Izzy Kemp (1).

GAME TWO
Western Michigan 3, Dayton 2 (9 inn.)
9 - Kemp recorded nine strikeouts over six innings of work
3 - Flaherty posted her second-consecutive three-hit game
SB - junior Kirnan Bailey collected her second stolen base of the season
Win - Ava Geyer (1-0). Loss - Kastelic (1-1).
