CLINTON, S.C. - The University of Dayton softball team closed out the weekend with a 9-3 win over Morehead State Sunday afternoon, the Flyers final game of Presbyterian's Blue Hose Invitational. Three different Flyers recorded multi-hit games in the win over the Eagles.

Dayton closes out the first weekend of the 2026 season with a 3-1 record. Morehead State moved to 0-3.

KEY STATS
9 - Dayton tallied a season-high nine hits
4 - freshman Hayden Baird collected a career-high four assists on defense at third base
3 - freshman Soseh Broglin batted in three runs on the strength of a bases-loaded double in the fourth
2 - three Flyers recorded two hits in the game, including sophomore Katelin Goodwin who batted two extra-base hits
2 - four Flyers scored two runs apiece, including freshman Izzy Calinski who was 2-for-3 at the plate
Win - Kate Kastelic (2-1). Loss - Ainsley Stubbs (0-2). Save - None.

UP NEXT
Dayton will continue its pre-conference tour of the southeast next weekend as it travels to Elon, N.C., to take part in Elon's Phoenix Invitational Feb. 13-15. UD will play a total of five games against Manhattan, Mount St. Mary's and host Elon at Hunt Softball Park.
