A tilted Atlantic 10 (A-10) logo sticker appears over the final “L.” Small logos for Dayton, Nike, and the Atlantic 10 are centered above the text.

Bennett, Montgomery Earn All-Atlantic 10 Honors

Javon Bennett Earns First Team, De'Shayne Montgomery Third Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. – University of Dayton senior men's basketball player Javon Bennett, as well as junior De'Shayne Montgomery, have earned spots on the postseason Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, the league office announced Wednesday morning prior to the start of the 2025-26 A-10 Championship.

It is the first Atlantic 10 All-Conference honor for Bennett, who is in his third season as a Flyer. The guard led Dayton in scoring and was fifth in the league with 15.9 points per game, while also averaging a team-high 3.0 assists per game. Bennett led the A-10 in free-throw percentage with a 90.5% (105-of-116) average on the season, was second in minutes per game at 34.9, and finished the season in 10th for steals with 45.

The Orlando, Fla. native joined the 1,000 point club for his career in the first game of the season, then became just the third Flyer to transfer into Dayton and reach the 1,000 point plateau in just a UD uniform. Bennett has averaged 11.9 points per game in his career as a Flyer, has scored 1,146 points at UD, and has 1,473 points for his career.

Nabbing a spot on the All-Conference third team, Montgomery earns an All-League nod in his first season as a Flyer. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native was second on the team in scoring with a 14.0 points per game average, while also pulling down 4.0 rebounds, dishing out 2.3 assists, and leading the team with 2.3 steals per game. Montgomery ranked second in the conference in steals per game and total steals (69), while also ranking fourth in field goal percentage (50.2%) and 12th in points per game.

Montgomery joined Dayton after spending his first two years of college at Mount St. Mary's and Georgia. His points per game average this season is the best of his career, as are his rebound, assists and steal averages.

Dayton, the No. 4 seed of the Atlantic 10 Championship, will play the winner of the fourth game of the tournament on Friday, March 13 at 2 p.m., which pits No. 5 seed George Mason against the winner of No. 12 La Salle and No. 13 St. Bonaventure.
