BRONX, N.Y. - The University of Dayton softball team split its Atlantic 10 doubleheader at Fordham Saturday, taking game one, 2-1 (8 inn.), before falling to the host Rams, 15-7 (5 inn.) in the nightcap. Senior pitcher
Izzy Kemp recorded a career-high 18 strikeouts in the complete-game victory.
Dayton is now 9-9 overall and 1-4 in league games while Fordham moves to 8-12 on the season and 2-3 in conference action.
GAME ONE
Dayton 2, Fordham 1 (8 inn.)
18 - Kemp tallied a career-high 18 pitching strikeouts for the Flyers, besting her previous record of 17 set during the 2025 A-10 Championship
CG - Kemp went the distance in the circle, working all eight innings for her third complete game of the season
RBI - freshman
Soseh Broglin brought across what proved to be the game-winning run with her sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, her 10th RBI of the season
Win - Kemp (5-2). Loss - Olivia Simcoe (3-6). Save - None.
GAME TWO
Fordham 15, Dayton 7 (5 inn.)

Ella Holman was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, one of three Flyers will a multi-hit game

Katelin Goodwin collected three RBI, her third multi-RBI game of the season
2 - sophomore
Camrynn Linneman was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI
Win - Sydney May (1-0). Loss - Linneman (2-1). Save - None.
UP NEXT
The Flyers and Rams will close out the three-game series Sunday with a single game at 12 p.m. at Bahoshy Field. Dayton has a single midweek game scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 in Athens against intrastate foe Ohio. The Flyers and Bobcats will get underway at 5 p.m. at OU's Ohio Softball Field.
