MARIETTA, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's rowing program kicked off the 2026 spring season down the road at Marietta.

The Flyers competed against squads from Milwaukee School of Engineering, Mercyhurst University, and Marietta on a beautiful Saturday on the Muskingum River. UD came prepared and ready to race as it showed where the program was at at this point in the campaign.

"We were very proud of the student-athletes for this first race of the season and we look forward to seeing some more quality racing for the upcoming events," said first-year head coach Adam Herrick.

"The 1V8+ and 1V4+ won both of their heats, with the 1V8+ team even beating their own winning pace the second time down the course."

"The 2V8+ was a full novice crew and was the only second varsity boat lineup down the course. They showed tenacity against more experienced crews and also beat their own time the second showing as well."
