DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will open up the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship tournament this Thursday, March 5 in the Second Round as the No. 7 seed against No. 10 seed George Washington. The tournament will take place again at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Henrico, Va.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton finished the regular season with a 16-13 record overall and a 9-9 A-10 mark. The Flyers are riding a two-game winning streak into the postseason and are 1-1 in neutral site games this year.

The Flyers are averaging 66.5 points per game and giving up 67.3 points to opponents. Dayton is shooting 43.7 percent overall, 31.0 percent from three point range, and 67.0 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +5.0 rebounding margin, but faces a -4.3 turnover gap.

Leading the way is Third Team All-Conference performer Nayo Lear with a team-high 14.5 points per game while graduate student Nicole Stephens is adding 11.0 points and 3.7 assist each outing. Both team captains are shooting above 46 percent from the field.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
GEORGE WASHINGTON

No. 10 seed George Washington travels just down the road to Henrico with a 15-16 record on the year and 7-11 conference record. The Revolutionaries are coming off a tough loss in the season finale, but does have two victories over the Flyers this campaign. GW is also 1-1 in neutral court games this season.

Head coach Ganiyat Adeduntan is in her first season with the Revs, coming over after a four-year stint at Colgate.

As a team, GW is scoring 61.1 points each contest and limiting opposing squads to just 60.7 points per game. The Revs are averaging 41.4 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from behind the arc, and 73.4 percent from the charity stripe.

George Washington is also led by a Third Team honoree in Gabby Reynolds with 14.0 points per game while Sara Lewis is contributing 10.5 points and a team-high 5.5 rebounds each contest.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton finished up the regular season with a big 79-62 home victory over VCU on Senior Day last Saturday. The Flyers got 48 points off the bench and 17 points from Ajok Madol to power the effort.

GW ended their regular season with a 72-48 loss at Rhode Island Saturday as well. The Revs had 17 points from Gabby Reynolds, but it would not be enough as they dropped the final game of the year.

SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and GW are meeting for the 54th time in program history and the third time this season as the Revs look to make it 3-0 against the Flyers this year. UD trails GW 17-36 overall and looks to prevent the sweep.
