DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's rowing program is set to return to action on Saturday, April 4 at the Lubbers Cup Regatta, hosted by Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The Flyers will travel north to compete on the Grand River, one of the premier rowing venues in the Midwest, with racing scheduled throughout the morning and early afternoon.
The University of Dayton women's rowing team opened its 2026 spring season with a strong performance at the Marietta Invitational on March 21. The Flyers highlighted the day with a win in the Varsity 8+ Final A and also took first in the Varsity 4+. Overall, Dayton competed confidently against regional opponents and established a solid foundation to build on heading into the Lubbers Cup.
Heats are expected to begin around 9:30 a.m. After a short intermission, finals will begin near 1 p.m., with competition wrapping up early in the afternoon. The regatta will feature a wide range of collegiate programs from across the region and country, including:
- Grand Valley State University (men and women)
- Drake University (women)
- Michigan State University (men and women)
- Northwestern University (men and women)
- University of Dayton (women)
- University of Illinois (men and women)
- University of Toledo (women)
Saturday's races will provide Dayton with another opportunity to measure progress early in the spring season while competing against respected programs in a championship-level environment.
