DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's tennis team will host Xavier on April 4 at 2 p.m.
The Flyers have not played at the South Regency Tennis Center since their 4-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Feb. 21.
The team is hitting its stride at the end of the regular season, winning the last seven matches. On Thursday, UD defeated Youngstown State 4-1. In addition to doubles wins on the second and third courts, Kyle McNally, Dylan Jaen and Kaia Mendibe won their singles matches. McNally continues to dominate for Dayton with a 14-1 singles record and 12-4 doubles record in the dual season.
Xavier is 7-12 this season with a 1-2 record in the Big East. The Musketeers will host Creighton for a home conference match before taking on Dayton. Alex Kotarski leads Xavier with 10 singles wins so far this season. Three doubles pairs for the Musketeers have three wins this season. Individually, Kotarski and Max Pettingell have seven doubles wins.
The Flyers are 9-11 against Xavier, winning the last two matches over the Musketeers. Last season, Dayton won 4-3 on the road. McNally, Mikkel Zinder and Sai Dore won their singles matches, clinching the match after earning the doubles point earlier in the match.
Dayton will wrap up the regular season with a match against Mercyhurst on April 10.
