ARLINGTON, Va. – The University of Dayton baseball team earned the sweep against George Washington with a 6-2 win to end the season.
The Revolutionaries scored first with an RBI groundout to shortstop Alejandro Sardinas.
Jason Bello tied the game in the top of the second with a solo home run to left field.
The Flyers continued to post runs in the third, taking a 3-1 lead with Danny MacDougall scoring on a throwing error by the pitcher and an RBI ground out by Dyrenson Wouters.
With Grayson Carpenter on first, MacDougall homered to add to Dayton's lead. After a pair of stolen bases for Michael Smith Jr., he came home on an out for Wouters for a 6-1 score.
George Washington cut the FlyBoys' lead to 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth, but the remaining four innings remained scoreless for both teams.
