CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team dropped its final road tilt of the non-conference campaign on Thursday night, falling to Xavier 4-0 on a rainy night at Corcoran Field.
Despite multiple chances from the Flyers' offense, it was the Musketeers that broke through with the first goal of the game in the ninth minute of action. Xavier added its second of the half in the 34th minute to build a 2-0 lead at the break.
The Musketeers scored their third goal of the match in the 68th minute and added their fourth and final on a perfectly placed free kick in the 78th.
UD's two shots on goal came from junior
Lauryn Contini and sophomore
Emery Newlin.
Xavier boasted the ultimate edge in shots (12-9), shots on goal (8-2), and corners (4-3).
