#UDVB Falls To No. 11 TCU In Four Sets

Sidney Sprada Dominated With 14 Kills For UD

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Dayton volleyball team continued its time at the South Florida Invitational with a four-set loss to No. 11 TCU (13-25, 13-25, 25-21, 24-26).

The Horned Frogs took an early lead in the first set, only allowing Dayton to go on two-point runs. Six of the Flyers' 13 points in the first set were from errors committed by TCU.

Set two faced a similar fate, with TCU taking a significant lead early in the set. The Flyers tallied eight kills, with Kamryn Hunt, Gabriela Machin Borges and Sidney Sprada each recording two.

The third set began much tighter with 11 ties and five lead changes. Tied at 17 apiece, Sprada began a four-point for the Flyers. After a block by Kaleigh Meritt and Isabel Simmons, the run continued with an attack error by TCU and an ace for Rylee Sloss to force a timeout for the Horned Frogs at 22-18. TCU fought back to make the score 22-20, but a service error by TCU and a kill for Sprada earned set point before recording another kill to win the third.

Despite leading early in the first set, TCU pulled away with a two-point run after being tied at 23 apiece, preventing a fifth set and winning the match.
