DAYTON – The University of Dayton volleyball team is set to begin its Atlantic 10 regular-season play this coming weekend with matches against Davidson on Sept. 25-26.

First serve will be at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m. in the Frericks Center. The matches will be livestreamed on ESPN+.

Friday's match will be a Red Out, so fans are encouraged to wear red.

BOWLING GREEN/TOLEDO INVITATIONAL RECAP
The Flyers went 2-1 last weekend in their tournament, defeating Missouri and Toledo, but taking only one set from Bowling Green.

Fifth-year Kaleigh Meritt led offensive efforts for the Flyers with 30 kills between Missouri and Bowling Green. Freshman Natalie Harrington totaled 26 assists and 3 service aces. Senior Kamryn Hunt and Meritt paced the team against Toledo with 17 digs each.

HITTING NEW HIGHS
Sophomore Abigail Cresse reached a career high of 10 kills/set against Toledo. Meritt achieved a season high of 18 kills and two assists against Bowling Green. Morgan Asleson and Natalie Harrington reached a season high of 15 and 14 digs, respectively, against Toledo.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Wildcats are entering the match 7-4 overall in the preseason, recently defeating Queens University and Charlotte in the Clash for the Crown tournament.

Melanie Tilles finished the match with six kills on eight attempts. Kinsey Smith dished out 46 assists on top of 11 digs. Davidson totaled 58 kills, six aces, and five blocks to defeat Charlotte this past weekend.

LAST MEETING
Dayton won both matches against Davidson last September, winning in five sets in the first match before taking the second match in straight sets.

Kamryn Hunt led the Flyers with 30 kills.

UP NEXT
UD heads to Bronx, N.Y. for matches against Fordham on Oct. 2-3.
