OXFORD, Ohio- The University of Dayton Women's Cross Country team finished third at the RedHawk Rumble hosted by Miami University to begin the 2026 season.
Senior Anna Newkirk recorded a personal best and crossed the finish line first for the Flyers, placing sixth (18:35:24) overall, followed by sophomore Addison Stephens, who ran 18:41:44 and finished eighth. Reese Kohnle (12th), Mia Gill (13th), Bryn Hothem (14th), Ashlyn Chopra (18th), Ashlynn Lindt (19th), and Olivia Smeck (20th) all earned Top 20 finishes to start the season for the Flyers. Chopra, Lindt, and Smeck made their collegiate debuts in Oxford on Friday alongside Kailyn Houghton.

On Friday the Atlantic 10 Conference released the 2026 Cross Country Preseason Poll and the Flyers were picked to finish seventh.
