At Dayton:
2014
Dowd returned for his fifth year as the leader of the defense at defensive end.  He was selected co-captain after spring ball, and was First Team Preseason All-Pioneer Football League by the PFL. Dowd appeared in nine games and recorded 12 tackles. Dowd was the recipient of the Emil Karas Memorial Award, which is awarded for the most inspirational leadership as chosen by members of the team.
2013
Dowd had another fantastic season for Dayton in 2013. He started in all 11 games and recorded 37 tackles. He led UD and was third in FCS football in sacks (1.05 per game). For the second straight season, all but one of his sacks were in PFL action (7.5 in 2012, 10.5 in 2013).  Dowd tied an FCS record with six sacks at Drake.  The redshirt senior was also tied for team honors in tackles for a loss (12.5) and fumbles forced (2).  His efforts earned him First Team All-PFL honors.
2012
Dowd had a breakout 2012 season for the Flyers. He led the team with 8.5 sacks and was second on the team in tackles for loss with ten. Dowd also recorded 36 tackles and was named to the First Team All-Pioneer Football League.
2011
Dowd appeared in eight games at defensive end for the Flyers in 2011. He registered 11 total tackles, with one for a loss, and one quarterback hurry.
2010
Dowd did not see any action during the 2010 season after redshirting as a freshman, but he was UD's Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year.

Son of Tom and Patty Dowd…Born on October 22, 1991…Majoring in Accounting with a minor in Finance…Dowd was a two-time all-conference selection and a team captain at St. Ignatius. He was selected to play in the annual Cleveland East-West All-Star Game
