Biography

At Dayton:

2013
Estey was presented the Emil Karas Memorial Award, which is given to the Flyer that has the most inspirational leadership as chosen by his fellow teammates. He was a 2013 co-captain, and Dayton won all but two games that he started. Estey overcame injuries and three position changes during his career to become one of the most respected players on the team. He appeared in six  games, making four starts.

2012
Estey started the last six games of 2012 at offensive tackle when the Flyers finished the season by winning five of their last six contests.

2011
He played in all 11 games last year after seeing action in just four career games heading into the season. He did not see any game action in 2009 but was named Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year.

2010
He began his career at tight end, but was moved to offensive tackle in 2010. His grandfather is Chuck Knox, who was the head coach of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks.

Personal:
Son of Charlie and Colleen Estey...Born December 18, 1990...Majoring in Sport Management…Estey was a three-year letterwinner of the football, basketball, and lacrosse teams in high school, and was captain of both basketball and lacrosse. He earned all-state honors in lacrosse as a senior, and helped his basketball team win a district championship in 2008. He was voted to his high school's executive board. He earned the UD Health and Sport Science Department's Dr. John Schleppi Career Enrichment Award last year.
