• Named to University of Dayton Dean's List for Fall 2018

2018 Freshman
• One of three Flyers named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Freshman Team
• Was one of just 10 pitchers in the A-10 with multiple complete games thrown and was the only freshman to accomplish the feat
• After making five appearances out of the bullpen in the first two months of the season, Ernst made his first career start on April 4 against Virginia Tech, the first of eight starts on the season
• Threw a complete game in his second career start, allowing just one run off five hits against VCU on April 8
• Ernst's second complete game came against St. Bonaventure, as he shut out the Bonnies and allowed just six hits in a 12-0 victory
• Ended the season on a high note earning the win with a career-high 10 strikeouts against Davidson in 7.0 innings and four runs allowed (three earned)
• Went 7.0 innings or deeper in four out of his eight starts
