Jacob Vellucci is in his first season on the Flyer football staff. He is coaching UD’s “Flyer” position, the hybrid linebacker/defensive back role in the Dayton defense.
Vellucci comes to the UD after two seasons at Concordia Chicago, where he coached the Cougar defensive backs.
He was a four-year member and three-year letterwinner for Wooster. He played mainly linebacker and special teams, moving into a starting role as a senior.
He found coaching at an early age, assisting football camps at Jackson High School in Massillon as a high school freshman. After graduating from Wooster in 2016 with a bachelor’s in English with a minor education, Vellucci began his coaching career as assistant at Luther North College Prep in Chicago, Ill. in 2016 and at Guerin College Prep in River Grove, Ill. in 2017.
