Kevin McCoy returns to the University of Dayton for his seventh season on the coaching staff. After three seasons as a defensive backs coach McCoy has now moved to up front to coach the team’s defensive ends. He is also the Flyers’ recruiting coordinator.

McCoy is no stranger to the Flyers’ defense, as he was cornerback for UD from 2003 to 2006. As a player, he earned both a letter and was named the AJ Cohen Flyer of the Year in 2006, an award that speaks for the character of its recipient.

McCoy came back to Dayton after a two-year stint with Carroll University, where he was the cornerbacks coach and helped out in the weight room as an assistant strength coach for two years. In 2009, his tutelage guided one of the two cornerbacks to all-conference honors.

Before Carroll, he was in charge of the safeties at Mason High School in Mason, Ohio.

McCoy is a native of Solon, Ohio and received a degree in AYA Education from UD. He and his wife Stacie live in Dayton with their daughter Addie.
