University of Dayton Athletics

Ryan VanSchelven returns to the University of Dayton as quarterbacks coach.

A native of Rockford, Illinois, VanSchelven played quarterback at Dayton from 2019–2022 and earned the Lt. Andy Zulli Award as a senior.

He began his coaching career as an Offensive Graduate Assistant for the Flyers (2023–2024) before serving as Offensive Quality Control coach at Harvard University (2024–2025) and running backs coach at the University of New Hampshire (2025). 
 

VanSchelven earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Dayton (2023).
