Biography

At Dayton:
2014
Pignatiello sought to continue his success from last year and started for the Flyers at the punting position this season. He recorded 61 kicks for a total of 2,428 yards (39.8 avg.), five of which were over 50 yards. He had 20 punts inside the 20, and seven of his punts were fair caught.  He was PFL Special Teams Player of the Week twice in the season's final three weeks and named Academic All-PFL.

2013
Pignatiello returned for his second season as UD’s punter. In his redshirt sophomore season he averaged 39.77 yards in 53 kicks. Six of his punts registered over 50 yards, with his longest punt being a career long of 66 yards. He had 16 punts inside the 20, and eight of his punts were fair caught.  He was a member of the 2013 PFL Academic Honor Roll.

2012
 As a redshirt freshman, he averaged 37.4 yards per punt in 65 kicks. Twenty-four of his punts were inside the 20 (with only three touchbacks), and 19 were fair caught. His career-long 63-yard punt at Davidson was the third-longest in the PFL last season. He is a two-time member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll, and was Second Team Academic All-PFL last year.

Personal:
Son of Mike and the late Donna Pignatiello…Born on December 6, 1992…Majoring in Sports Management…Pignatiello was first team all-area, district, and state as a punter. He was a two-time All-Ohio selection as a punter. He was also a two-time all-conference defensive end in the Central Buckeye Conference. He has school records in career PATs (117), single season PATs (50), longest field goal (45 yards), career field goals (14). He holds the school record for best punting average in a season at 41 yards per punt and holds the best career average with better than 39 yards per punt. His father, Mike, was a kicker for the Flyers from 1980-1982. He scored 139 points (28th all time at UD). Mike is one of six Flyer kickers to be perfect on PATs in a season (41-41 in 1982). He was a member of the Division III national runner up team... His Uncle also played football at Dartmouth (1977-80)
