•Welsh redshirted for the Flyers during the 2012 season. His brother Ben was a three-year starter at safety for the Flyers. Luke was a member of the 2012 PFL Academic Honor Roll.

•Majoring in Exercise Science
•Welsh was named conference Player of the Year for South Newton as well as All-Indiana, all-district and all-conference in 2011. He set the single-season rushing record at South Newton with over 1,400 yards.
•Welsh was South Newton’s valedictorian.
