• Led team to OHSAA playoffs all three years he lettered
• Lettered in wrestling as well

• Son of Michael and Melanie Appel
• Dad is a 1997 grad of Morehead State where he was an offensive lineman and two-time First Team GTE Academic All-American
• His uncle James is a 1992 graduate of Morehead State and he was a two-time First Team CoSIDA College All-American 
• Morehead State’s football academic award is named the Appel Academic Award in honor of the Appel brothers 
• Has two siblings, Michael and Lauren
• Majoring in computer science
