Biography

2011: Played in all 23 games totaling 1810 minutes… The defender tallied her first assist in the 2-1 victory against Oakland (09/25)… Named Defensive MVP in the 2011 Boilermaker Challenge Cup... Member of the Academic All-Ohio Second Team. 

2010: Primed to have a successful junior season, Miller was named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason team...started and played in every single game, amassing 2,056 minutes played...played a vital role in reinforcing the tremendously tough UD defense...registered three assists for the season...her first assist was her first in her collegiate career and came against Lehigh on Sept. 9. This was also her first collegiate point...went on to be named Second Team All-Atlantic 10.

2009: Was a rock as central defender of the Flyer defense that posted a school-record 15 shutouts and was second in the nation in goals against average … as a starter of every game, she lead the team in minutes played with over 2000 minutes on the season (2,172)… earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors along with teammates Kathleen Beljan and Allison Giner and went on to be named to TopDrawerSoccer.com and Soccer America Women's Teams of the Week ...finished the season as an Atlantic 10 Second Team selection… played the entire game in 20 of the 23 Flyer matchups… also named to the OCSA Division I Academic All-Ohio First Team. 

2008: Had a tremendous rookie season in which she played more minutes than any other Flyer, tallying 2022 minutes on the pitch as a central defender...Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after shutting down nationally-ranked Indiana in the Flyers' season-opener...Also selected to the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week, which honors the top 11 performers around the nation for their efforts over the previous week and is considered one of the top honors available during the regular season...Selected to the Illini Challenge Cup All-Tournament Team and honored to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team...Named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and UD Dean's List for Spring 2009.

Coach Tucker on Kelsey Miller - "Kelsey is an athletic, tough, aggressive, and skillful defender. She can play either centrally or wide, and is an excellent attacker from the back. Last spring one Chicago area newspaper referred to hear as "perhaps the top defender in the state." Kelsey comes from a family of great defenders! We will be counting on Kelsey to play a prominent role in the defensive third."

Prior to UD: Helped her high school team to the Regional Championship in 2007...Her club team, the Sockers, were regional semifinalists in 2006...She is a 2006 Joga Bonita World Champion...Four-year honor roll member at Barrington.

Personal: Daughter of Roger and Laura Miller...Has two brothers, Ryan, who played for Notre Dame and was drafted to the Columbus Crew and Andy, who was a starting defender for the Wisconsin Badgers...Born July 17, 1990 ...Major: Pre-Medicine.
