Biography

2011: Played 17 games totaling 315 minutes… Scored her first goal of the season in the 3-1 win over Kansas (09/09)… She tallied her first assist against La Salle (10/07)… Earned her second assist in 2-1 win against Fordham (10/09)… Member of the 2011 All-Tournament Team for the 2011 Boiler Challenge Cup.

2010: Played in every single game for the Flyers while starting 15 of the 23...finished the season taking 26 shots with 10 of those being on goal...tallied two goals and an assist on the season for a five points...her assist was in a game against Fordham at Baujan Field on Oct. 1. Her first goal occurred during a game against Lehigh (9/10/2010) and the second in a game that occurred a week later against Loyola Chicago.

2009: Played in every game for the Flyers, making four starts while registering 808 minutes … scored the only goal against Loyola (Aug. 23) in the season opener giving the Flyers the 1-0 victory…. tallied another goal on Halloween against conference opponent Xavier… added three assists, including two in Dayton’s 4-0 win over Temple (Sept. 25)...finished the season with seven points...played a season-high 87 minutes in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, helping Dayton advance past Marquette...was a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2009 semester. 

2008: Saw playing time in all 22 games in rookie campaign and registered five starts as a midfielder, including the season opener against the Big Ten Conference's Indiana (Aug. 22)...Tallied five goals for 10 points, which was fifth best for the Flyers and made her the highest scoring freshman on the team...Registered first collegiate goal, a dramatic game-winning goal in Dayton's 1-0 win over Cincinnati (Sept. 9)...Also put away the game-winning goal in UD's 3-2 win over Fordham (Oct. 31) that allowed the Flyers to secure the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship...Also scored goals against St. Bonaventure (Oct. 17), Charlotte (Oct. 24) and Fordham (Nov. 7) in the semifinals of the A-10 Championship... Named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and UD Dean's List for Spring 2009.

Coach Tucker on Kelsey Owen - "KO" is a very dynamic attacking player who has played a key role in helping her Eagles (CA) club team to two national championships. She is always a threat to score, and is adapt at either creating her own chances or on getting on the end of her teammates passes. Kelsey is tough, physical presence in the middle of the field for the Flyers." 

Prior to UD: Tallied 11 goals and five assists during the 2007 season...Named First team Tri-Valley League 2005-2007...All-CIF Second Team in 2004 and All-CIF Third Team in 2005 and 2006...In the 2004-05 season, her team finished as the Tri-Valley League Runner-ups and as CIF quarterfinalists...The following year she helped lead her squad to win the Tri-Valley Championships ... In club action, her team finished as state, regional and national champions in 2007 and 2004...She also helped her club team win the Premier League Championship in 2005, the Coast Soccer League Cup in 2006 and the Surf Cup in both 2005 and 2006...Academically, she holds one of the top 50 spots in her class and is a member of her high school's Gold Key Club. 

Personal: Daughter of Peter and Lana Owen...has a brother Michael and sister Lindsey...Major: Sport Management.
