Biography

Coach Sheffield's Outlook: “Jessica has been everything that we hoped she would be.  From day one she came in and took control of this team offensively.  She has brought great energy and challenged people and seems to be having a blast.  She has totally invested herself in with this team and program.  She's got sweet hands and does a very good job of locating.  She puts hitters in good situations and gives us another offensive threat at the net.  She has waited a long time to be in the position of running a team and she is absolutely running with it.  She's only been here a short time, but I can already tell that I'm going to enjoy going into battle with her.”

Best Part of UD Volleyball
The team! The girls work so incredibly hard and have fun while doing it.

Pre-Match Rituals
I always have to braid my hair.

Role Models
My parents. They have been behind me throughout my career and supported every decision I've made. They taught me the value of hard work at a young age -- I don't think I'd be who I am today if I hadn't learned that.

UD Coaching Staff
The coaches expect the most out of every one of us, whether it's on the court or in the classroom. Even though I've been here a short time, I feel like I've grown as a person in both of these areas.

First Volleyball Memory
Watching the Lewis University men's volleyball team play when I was in elementary school. Even though it was men's volleyball, I loved watching and was hooked from that moment on.

Dream Job
Working within collegiate athletics somehow, whether it is coaching, academics, or some other niche within an athletic department.

Most-Valued Possession
My stuffed tiger Hobbes. I've had him since I was a baby and he's been with me everywhere.
