Porterfield began working at the University of Dayton this past fall in order to cover men's soccer and baseball. He received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Indiana State University in 2010 and his master's degree in exercise science from UD in 2013.
Prior to Dayton, he worked with the Indianapolis Colts in 2009. In 2012, he worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer here at UD and covered the softball team. Â Last year, he worked for St. Vincent Sports Performance in Indiana, where he was the head athletic trainer for Hamilton Heights Middle School. He also covered the Brebeuf High School hockey team.
Porterfield is now living in Beavercreek with his wife, Amanda.
