FLYERS FINISH FOURTH OVERALL IN THE DETROIT TITANS INVITATIONAL

Freshman Katie Dempsey played well all weekend finishing tied for 5th in the tournament. She followed up a first round 80 with another solid 81 in the second round. Dempsey was in the hunt after the first round trailing the leader by only 2 strokes. Her second round again left her in the hunt finishing just 5 strokes behind Oakland Universities, Christina Cibrario.

Casey Peterson finished the weekend in the top 13. Peterson shot an 83 in the first round, which was three strokes behind teamate Dempsey, and an 84 on the second day of play tieing for 13th place. Senior Melissa Gaus was two strokes behind Peterson shooting a combined 169 for both days of play. Gaus ended the weekend tied for 16th place.

Freshman Katie Gallagher finished the tournament with a score of 176 and teamate Elaine English was just two strokes behind Gallagher shooting a 178.

Dayton returns to action on October 16th at the IPFW Invitational in Fort Wayne, IN.
