WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - After its best round of the weekend, Dayton finished eighth at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship on Sunday at Orange County National Golf Course.
Freshman Rob Chappell was the top Flyer finisher in his first appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship. After a two-under-par 70 in the final round, Chappell had a three-day total of 216 (73-73-70) to tie for 15th place. He was named the 2006 A-10 Rookie of the Year.
Senior Brett Gould finished his UD career with a two-over-par 74 on Sunday. Gould tied for 24th place with a combined score of 219 (70-75-74).
Freshman Matt Friend fired an even-par 72 in the final round to finish in 44th place. Friend shot 75-79-72 on the weekend to finish with a 226 overall.
Junior John Zaller closed out the weekend with a two-over-par 74 for a combined total of 228 (81-73-74) which tied for 47th place.
Senior Adam Myers rounded out the UD players with an 80 on Sunday. His three-day total of 239 (77-82-80) put him in 56th place to finish his collegiate career.
