FLYERS FINISH WITH STRONG ROUND AT LONNIE D. SMALL INVITATIONAL

    BUIES CREEK, N.C. - On the final day of play of the Lonnie D. Small Spring Classic, senior Sam Morton led the team with a second round 78, shooting a 159 for the two day competition.

    As a team, UD shot a respected 658 at the 72-par, 6703 yard Keith Hills Country Club. Morton's total was good enough to place him in a tie for 55th place.

    Fellow teammate, sophomore Nick Trubee, capped off his solid tournament play with a second round 82. Trubee ended the day in a tie for 71st place.

    Senior John Zaller fired a second round 79, dropping four strokes from yesterday's competition. Zaller finished in a tie for 74th.

    Rounding out play for the Flyers was freshman John Hennessey and Nick Miller. The freshman duo recorded an 85 and 86 to end play at the tournament.

    UD returns to action on Monday, March 12 for the Samford Intercollegiate at Limestone Springs Golf Course in Oneonta, Ala.
