DAYTON MEN'S GOLF TO HOLD INAUGURAL GOLF OUTING

May 21, 2007

The inaugural Dayton Flyers Men's Golf Outing will take place on Monday, August 13 at the Miami Valley Golf Club.

The Miami Valley Golf Club is rich with tradition, hosting the 1957 PGA Championship, the final year in which the event was in a match play format. This 88-year-old Donald Ross designed course measures 6,700 yards and is known for having fantastic greens

Registration for the event will begin at 11 a.m. ET. The grill-out lunch will start at 11:30 am and the event will begin with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m. ET.

In addition, a Titleist golf representative will have the latest golf equipment available on the driving range for participants to use.

The outing will be a scramble format. A dinner reception, awards ceremony, and raffle will immediately follow the event.

Interested participants must complete and submit the enclosed entry form by July 23. 2007 Golf Outing Entry Form

The event will be limited to the first 144 golfers. UD Head Men's Golf Coach Drew Tyrer anticipates the event will be filled quickly due to the large amount of alumni interest and community support.

"This inaugural event is a fantastic way to build awareness of our program," Tyrer said. "All participants will have the opportunity to meet each and every one of our current players face-to-face. We hope for a great turn out of community supporters as well as dozens of UD golf alumni."
